How do we get started?

The first step is to produce an inventory of all your Automation Systems.  For Automation Backup purposes the basic definition of an Automation System is any device or combination of devices that operates on programmable logic, control parameters, specialized executable code, OPC client software and the like.  From this list Pinaka Systems can work with you to organize and prioritize your backup needs.

Who enters the information into the Automation Backup System?

Our basic package includes one license of the Automation Backup Distiller and one week on-site service by Pinaka Systems.  The Distiller is used to organize, and then migrate all the information into the data server.  During the week of on-site service Pinaka Systems will install the software, train up to two people on the use of the Distiller, and document as many systems as possible during that week.  From that point on you may have your trained personnel enter additional information, or you may contract with Pinaka Systems on a daily or weekly basis to assist with your documentation.

All your engineers and technicians, with the proper credentials, have unlimited access to the information with the use of a standard web browser like Internet Explorer.

A lot of our equipment has paper manuals.  How is that handled with Automation Backup?

Pinaka Systems has an affiliation with a document scanning service.  We send clients’ manuals to them via insured courier like UPS or FedEx.  They scan the manuals into PDF format and then return the manuals to the client.

How does Automation Backup handle CNC Programs or related part-specific programs?

Automation Backup is designed primarily for machine logic and information critical to the function of automation systems.  Pinaka Systems will be happy to recommend a DNC or other document management systems to meet your production document management needs.
